Hapur, July 28 – A joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh STF Noida Unit, Bihar Police, and Hapur Police led to an early morning encounter on Monday in Simbhaoli police station area of Hapur district. During the exchange of fire, a wanted criminal from Bihar sustained serious gunshot injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed during treatment.
A large quantity of arms, cartridges, and other materials were recovered from the site.

Gangster Identified as W Yadav from Begusarai
The deceased has been identified as W Yadav, son of Surya Narayan Yadav, a resident of Sahebpur Kamal police station area in Begusarai district, Bihar. He was a notorious gangster wanted for murder and carried a cash reward of ₹50,000 on his head. He was listed as the main absconding gangster from Shahpur Kamal in Begusarai and was associated with Gang A-121, a registered gang in the district.
Wanted for Murder of Political Leader
According to STF ADG Amitabh Yash, on 24 May 2025, W Yadav and his gang abducted and murdered Vikas Kumar alias Rakesh Kadam, a social worker and block president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM party) in Sahebpur Kamal police station area, Begusarai. He had been on the run since then, and a reward had been announced for his capture.
Acting on intelligence inputs about his presence in Hapur, a joint operation was carried out. The accused was cornered near the Barhda canal, where he opened fire on the police team. In retaliatory firing, he was injured and later died during treatment.
24 Serious Cases Registered Against the Accused
The slain gangster had around 24 serious criminal cases registered against him, including charges of loot and murder. His death marks a significant breakthrough for law enforcement agencies working across state lines.
