Barabanki, June 2 — In a tragic road accident early Monday morning, four members of the same family from Gonda district lost their lives when an Ertiga car collided head-on with a truck on the Banda–Bahraich National Highway near the Chanchal Aanchal Dhaba in Ramnagar police station limits.

The crash, which occurred around 5:30 AM, left the front portion of the car completely mangled, and led to a two-kilometer traffic jam on the Lucknow–Bahraich highway. Police and passersby rushed to the scene, rescuing the injured and clearing the wreckage after an hour-long effort.
Deceased Identified, All from One Family
According to Ramnagar SHO Anil Pandey, the deceased have been identified as:

All four victims were returning from a wedding reception in Kanpur with their family members.

Three other passengers were seriously injured in the accident:

All were traveling in the same car. They were rescued from the wreckage and rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Accident Causes Chaos on Highway
The intensity of the collision caused an immediate traffic pile-up, halting movement on the highway. It took nearly an hour for the police to clear the jam and restore normal traffic flow.
The victims’ bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and their families have been notified, police confirmed.
