
Udaipur : A woman has become the latest victim of a leopard attack in the Gogunda police station area of Udaipur. In this incident that occurred on Tuesday morning, the woman died on the spot. The leopard, which had clamped its jaws around the woman’s neck, was driven away by villagers shouting.
On Monday, a priest was also killed by a leopard in the same police station area. In the past 11 days, 8 people have died in separate attacks. While the forest department has captured 4 leopards using cages during this period, the attacks have not stopped.
According to the information, the incident took place at 8 am on Tuesday in Kelvo ka Kheda village. Kamala Kunwar (55) was working in the courtyard of her house when a leopard attacked her. Hearing the woman’s screams, other members of the family ran outside and the leopard fled leaving her body.
The family said that the woman’s neck was in the leopard’s jaws. She died on the spot due to a deep wound in her throat. On hearing the news, a crowd of villagers gathered. On receiving the information, the forest department and Gogunda police station reached the spot and started investigating.
