Jaipur, April 27 (Udaipur Kiran) – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recovered ₹1.5 lakh in suspected cash during a surprise check of a contracted vehicle linked to the Labour Department in Sirohi. Further action in the case is underway.
The action was carried out by the Sirohi unit of the ACB under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur, following directions from the ACB headquarters. The cash was recovered when Labour Welfare Officer Harshdeep Singh Gill was travelling from Abu Road to the district headquarters in Sirohi along with Junior Assistant Vikas Kumar in a department-contracted car.
During the search, officials found a rexine bag inside the vehicle containing a polythene packet with three bundles of ₹500 notes, totalling ₹1,50,000. When questioned about the source of the cash, no satisfactory explanation was given.
According to inputs received earlier, the ACB had information that the Labour Welfare Officer and another employee were allegedly collecting illegal bribes from industrial units in Abu Road and transporting the money towards Sirohi, which led to the कार्रवाई.
The suspected amount has been seized, and further investigation is being carried out under the directions of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava and close supervision of DIG Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav.
