Udaipur, February 24, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – The Amrita Haat Fair organised in the district concluded on a grand and dignified note, with District Pramukh Mamta Kunwar formally marking the closing ceremony. A large number of public representatives, officials and citizens were present on the occasion.

Deputy Director, Women Empowerment, Sanjay Joshi welcomed the guests on stage by presenting traditional uparna, pagdi and mementos. In his welcome address, he shared details of the various programmes conducted during the fair.
Addressing the gathering, District Pramukh Mamta Kunwar said the Amrita Haat Fair is an important initiative towards economically empowering women self-help groups. She highlighted that handicrafts, handloom products, food items and other local products made by women’s groups from across the district were displayed and sold at the fair, providing them an opportunity to become self-reliant.
During the programme, women self-help groups that performed exceptionally were honoured. Women participants and members of the public appreciated the fair and described it as an inspiring platform for women.
Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Udaipur, Kuldeep Sharma informed that providing free legal aid to the public is the primary objective of the authority. He said eligible individuals are offered free advocates, legal advice and necessary assistance in court cases. He also appealed to women to contact the District Legal Services Authority for information about their legal rights and to avail free assistance.
Joint Director of the Statistics Department, Puneet Sharma, spoke in detail on the theme of “Udaipur Panch Gaurav.” He described Fatehsagar and Pichola lakes, marble and granite, mahua, custard apple and swimming as important symbols of the district’s pride. He said Udaipur’s true glory lies in its rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, natural beauty, folk art and social harmony. Progress in education, tourism and women empowerment was also highlighted as key achievements of the district.
On the concluding day, a lottery draw was conducted for visitors who made purchases worth more than ₹1,000. Vidushi, Birjis Fatima, Meenu, Prerna Kohta, Hemlata, Gajendra, Jitendra, Taruna Lohar, Hansa and Alsi Kant Bhatt emerged as winners and were awarded prizes by the guests.
The fair recorded total sales of over ₹29 lakh.
In his vote of thanks, Deputy Director Sanjay Joshi expressed gratitude to all guests and participants. He also thanked the district administration, police administration, medical and health department, Udaipur Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Home Guards and other administrative departments for their support in successfully organising the fair.
