Ranchi, September 28 (Udaipur Kiran News) – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday launched search operations at six locations linked to Vinay Singh, the jailed owner of Nexgen Automobiles, in connection with a case related to illegal land settlement in Hazaribagh.

According to official sources, ACB teams began simultaneous raids at Vinay Singh’s residence, showroom, and several other properties early Sunday morning. The raids are part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal settlement of forest land.
ADG Priya Dubey confirmed the action.
The ACB had arrested Vinay Kumar Singh on September 25 for his alleged involvement in a criminal conspiracy with government officials to fraudulently convert non-mazarua khas and forest land into private ownership. The case has been registered under ACB Hazaribagh PS Case No. 11/25.
According to ACB officials, the case dates back to 2013, when the Hazaribagh DC office had cancelled five illegal land settlements. The decision was later upheld by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department the same year.
A letter issued by the Divisional Forest Officer, Hazaribagh East Forest Division (Letter No. 2612, dated December 5, 2012) had clearly stated that any non-forestry activity or encroachment on notified forest land violates the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and the Forest Conservation Act, 1980.
The letter also referenced the Supreme Court’s judgment in T.N. Godavarman vs. Union of India (December 12, 1996), which mandates prior approval from the Central Government for any non-forestry use of land classified as forest or jungle-jhadi.
The ACB investigation continues, focusing on the alleged collusion between officials and private individuals in the illegal conversion of forest land.
