Tensions Emerge in Bilaspur After Violent Clash

Bilaspur, August 29: Tensions escalated in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, after a minor altercation between two groups turned violent on Friday night. Reports indicate that the dispute, which began with a heated argument and verbal exchanges, quickly escalated into physical confrontations, resulting in stone-pelting from both sides. Several individuals sustained injuries during the incident.

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene to restore order. Currently, police forces are deployed in the area, and the situation is reported to be under control.

Bilaspur Collector Sanjay Agrawal addressed the media, assuring that law and order is fully maintained and strict action is being taken against all individuals involved in the incident. “Anyone attempting to disrupt the peace and harmony of Bilaspur district will face severe consequences. A strong and clear message will be sent against such activities. We are taking evidence-based actions as we gather information,” he stated.

Agrawal clarified that the incident stemmed from a personal dispute that escalated between the two parties. He emphasized that the situation is now completely under control, with security forces patrolling the area. No one found guilty will be spared.

Bilaspur SSP Rajnesh Singh also commented on the incident, describing it as a personal dispute rooted in a longstanding rivalry. Both parties had gathered their members, creating tension in the locality. Before the situation could escalate further, police intervened to manage the conflict.

Singh noted that when stone-pelting began, police had to use minimal force to control the crowd. Barricades have been set up throughout the area, and police patrols are ongoing. “We are also conducting foot patrols to ensure everything is normal,” he added.

Additionally, two FIRs have been filed regarding the incident, and complaints from individuals whose vehicles were damaged are also being registered. Singh assured that all accused will be apprehended and face stringent action.
