Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Delhi on Monday morning and held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. This visit has sparked widespread speculation about a possible cabinet expansion and organizational changes within the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, discussions reportedly focused on the state’s development plans as well as future political strategies. Apart from PM Modi, CM Yogi is also scheduled to meet BJP National President JP Nadda and BJP Executive President Nitin Naveen.
The timing of this visit is considered significant as both Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, are also in Delhi. Notably, Brajesh Pathak met with Nitin Naveen earlier on Monday, adding to the speculation about cabinet reshuffles.
Currently, several ministerial positions in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet remain vacant. It is believed that new faces may be inducted and some existing ministers might see changes in their portfolios. The meetings in Delhi are expected to finalize these decisions.
The meeting with Nitin Naveen is also seen in the context of potential organizational restructuring within the Uttar Pradesh BJP. Sources suggest that the party leadership aims to strengthen its hold in the state by carefully considering caste equations and making major strategic decisions.
Before CM Yogi’s arrival, reports indicated that several senior leaders from Uttar Pradesh were already present in Delhi. Officially, these meetings are described as courtesy visits, but the underlying agenda appears to focus on improving coordination between the government and the party ahead of the 2027 mission.
