Bengaluru, March 5 : Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said he will visit the house of Naveen Shekarappa Gyanagoudar, an Indian student killed in Ukraine, to offer his condolences to the grieving family. He said all efforts were on to bring his mortal remains from Ukraine. “The state government has decided to present a solatium to the family,” he added. Naveen was killed in shelling in Kharkiv, which lies in eastern parts of Ukraine. Bommai said many Kannadigas have been evacuated from Ukraine though some more are still stranded in Kharkiv and Kiev. “The Indian Embassy is making efforts to bring them back to India. They have assured us to contact them immediately when the war recedes.” BDN MR
