Vienna, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran) – India’s Yuki Bhambri and Croatia’s Andrej Goransson advanced to the men’s doubles semifinals of the Vienna Open 2025 after defeating the world No. 2 pair Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The Indo-Croatian duo progressed to the next round via a walkover, as Pavic and Arevalo were forced to withdraw due to injury. Before the retirement, Bhambri and Goransson had lost the first set 6-7(6) but made a strong comeback to take the second set 6-4.
Notably, Pavic and Arevalo had earlier won the French Open 2024 doubles title, defeating Italy’s Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the final.
Interestingly, Yuki Bhambri had also beaten the same Pavic-Arevalo pair earlier this year at the Dubai ATP 500 quarterfinals, where he was partnered with Ivan Dodig.
In the semifinals, Bhambri and Goransson will face Austria’s Lucas Miedler and Portugal’s Francisco Cabral, who have also been in impressive form this tournament.
