Udaipur : Indian Railways has announced the fare structure for the Vande Bharat train running thrice a week between Udaipur and Agra Cantt. The base fare for the chair car is ₹1275, and for the executive class, it is ₹2545. Although the official fare list is yet to be released, these rates are expected to remain unchanged barring any last-minute revisions.
Opting for catering services will incur an additional charge, raising the chair car fare by ₹359 to a total of ₹1634 and the executive class fare by ₹415, bringing it to ₹2960. Currently, the Vande Bharat train operates six days a week, except Tuesday, between Jaipur and Udaipur. Starting from September 2, it will run thrice a week on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday from Agra Cantt and on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from Jaipur.
Chair Car and Executive Class Pricing
On Wednesday, the Railway authorities finalized the train schedule and station stops for the Udaipur-Agra Cantt route. The fare details, inclusive of the base fare and catering charges, are under review by the accounts department.
Despite being less than 10 km apart, the fare from Udaipur City Station to Rana Pratap Nagar Station is notably high. The chair car fare is ₹365, and the executive class fare is ₹690. This is because the Railway charges a minimum fare equivalent to a 50 km journey for the first station. Catering charges are additional.
The Vande Bharat train will cover the 620 km distance between Udaipur and Agra Cantt in 8 hours and 45 minutes. The train will include seven chair cars and one executive coach. Departing from Udaipur at 5:45 AM, it will arrive in Agra at 2:30 PM. The return journey will leave Agra at 3:00 PM and reach Udaipur by 11:45 PM.
Currently, the train departs from Udaipur at 7:50 AM and arrives in Jaipur at 2:10 PM. The return trip from Jaipur starts at 3:45 PM, arriving back in Udaipur at 10:10 PM, covering approximately 400 km. The fare for the chair car between Udaipur and Jaipur is ₹1330, and for the executive class, it is ₹2350, both including catering charges.
