Ahmedabad, June 24: BJP leader Rohan Gupta has reacted to the recent CAG report concerning the government of Mamata Banerjee. In an interview with a news agency on Wednesday, Gupta stated that those who have committed wrongdoings must answer for their actions. The CAG report indicated a lack of utilization certificates, and Gupta emphasized that the TMC must respond to this issue, asserting that “appeasement, goondaraj, and corruption” define the TMC. He insisted that anyone who has misappropriated public funds must return the money to the people, stating that only then will the truth be revealed. The BJP, he noted, will work towards this goal.
Gupta also commented on the NEET examination, criticizing the Congress party for attempting to gain political mileage from unfortunate events. He questioned the Congress’s sensitivity when three children were unable to take the exam during their tenure, asking where Rahul Gandhi was at that time and why he did not release any statements. He condemned what he termed the “double standards” of the Congress party, recalling that 14 papers were leaked during their government in Rajasthan, yet they failed to take responsibility.
He asserted that the BJP government prioritizes students’ futures and will not compromise on their interests. Gupta urged those politicizing the issue to reflect on their inconsistent stance.
Additionally, Gupta addressed Maulana Madani, stating that the Muslim community has become aware of such controversial statements made for political gain. He emphasized that Muslims in India enjoy all rights and rejected the notion of associating them with illegal immigrants. Gupta declared that the politics of appeasement has ended, and only merit-based politics should prevail, highlighting the significant benefits that government schemes currently provide to the Muslim community.
He further criticized the Congress for its dual political approach, claiming that the public does not trust such tactics. Gupta pointed out that when statistics are presented, there is no need for anyone to explain the government’s performance. He noted that India ranks eighth in exports, with an eight percent GDP growth rate and controlled inflation. He challenged the opposition to acknowledge these facts, questioning whether the government’s reported statistics are incorrect.
