Greater Noida, Oct 3 (IANS) In the singer murder case, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has suspended sub-inspector Rajeev Kaushik, in-charge of New Mandi police post, in the Bulandshahr district for dereliction of duty.
Singer Sushma Nekpur, 25, was shot dead allegedly by unidentified bike-borne assailants here on Tuesday night.
The victim had lodged a complaint of murder attempt on her life in August, but sub-inspector Kaushik failed to take any action.
She had also met Bulandshahr SSP Santosh Kumar Singh expressing threat to her life, just a few days before her murder.
Meanwhile, the police have recovered CCTV footage and are conducting raids to nab the suspects. They claimed to have got vital clues from the CCTV footage.
The police have also detained some suspects and were interrogating them.
