Mahindra’s Electric SUVs Cross 65,000 Sales Mark

Udaipur, May 21 (Udaipur Kiran) — Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup has recorded strong demand in the Indian market, with total wholesale dispatches of its three Born Electric SUVs crossing 65,000 units.

The company’s electric portfolio includes the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S. Mahindra launched the BE 6 and XEV 9e in January 2025, while the XEV 9S was introduced later in November 2025.

According to company wholesale data, Mahindra dispatched a total of 65,615 units of these three electric SUVs to dealerships by the end of April 2026. Total production of the three models stood at 67,112 units during the last 16 months.

Among the three models, the XEV 9e emerged as the highest-selling electric SUV with 34,369 units, accounting for over 52% of total sales. The BE 6 contributed 20,108 units, while the XEV 9S recorded 11,138 units.

The company said its BEV share also witnessed steady growth, reaching 10.69% in April 2026.

The Mahindra BE 6 is available with 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options. The larger battery variant claims a driving range of up to 682km, while the 59kWh version offers a claimed range of 535km. The SUV supports both AC and DC fast charging and can charge from 20% to 80% in around 20 minutes using a fast charger.

The SUV produces up to 286hp power and 380Nm torque in the higher-spec variant. Features include panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital driver display, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera, dual wireless chargers, ventilated seats and Level-2 ADAS.

The Mahindra XEV 9e is offered with both 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs. The top variant delivers a claimed MIDC range of 656km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds.

The SUV comes with 663-litre boot space and a 150-litre frunk. It also supports fast charging, with the battery charging from low levels in around 20 minutes using a 170kW charger.

In January 2025, the Mahindra XEV 9e received a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. The SUV scored full marks for adult occupant protection and strong ratings for child occupant safety.
