Shooter Arrested in Rohit Shetty Shooting Case

Mumbai, February 16: A significant breakthrough has emerged in the shooting incident at the residence of renowned Bollywood director Rohit Shetty. The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a shooter from Rajasthan involved in the firing.

In total, the Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended six individuals linked to the incident, with arrests made in various locations across Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, where the suspects had been hiding after executing the crime.

The Mumbai Police provided updates on the case, confirming the arrest of the shooter and noting that a total of 11 individuals have now been detained. It is reported that Shubham Lonkar, an associate of the Lawrence gang, claimed responsibility for the shooting and issued threats against the director.

In a bid to expedite the investigation, the Mumbai Crime Branch recreated the crime scene with the suspects. They gathered information regarding the routes taken to bring the scooter used in the incident and re-examined CCTV footage from the area. During questioning, the suspects revealed that Lonkar had provided them with money even after they arrived in Mumbai. Initially, it was reported that the amount was 40,000, but the suspects later disclosed that it was actually 51,000, which included the purchase of the scooter.

To connect the dots in the case, the Mumbai Crime Branch has also recorded statements from the managers of Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh, as there are suspicions that the incident was not merely intended to instill fear. A threatening voice call sent to Ranveer Singh’s manager mentioned Rohit Shetty’s name, warning that this was just a “trailer” and that the “full film” was yet to come. The audio was linked to Harry Boxer, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who was threatening both stars to mend their ways. The branch is currently verifying the authenticity of the audio and investigating the location of the individual who sent the message.
