The design and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 have been leaked ahead of their launch on July 10.
Samsung’s next foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, have revealed their full specifications in a massive leak just days before their official launch. The leak shared by Evan Blass (@evleaks) details the design, features and upgrades of both smartphones.
One of the biggest upgrades is that both smartphones now feature IP48 protection against dust and water, a first for a foldable smartphone.
This represents a significant improvement over the previous IPX8 rating.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover display, both of which feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, the maximum brightness of the main display has been increased to 2600 nits, which is the same as the brightness of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
According to leaked marketing materials from Blass, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will retain the same screen size as the previous generation, but the battery will be significantly improved. The smartphone will feature a 4,000mAh battery, an increase over the Z Flip 5’s 3,700mAh battery, which could potentially address one of the previous model’s main criticisms.
Both smartphones will come with a 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 processor and 12GB of RAM. The Z Flip 6 features a new 50-megapixel primary camera, which is an upgrade over the previous model’s 12-megapixel sensor.
The leak also reveals that both phones will feature Samsung’s Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search and Interpreter Mode. The Z Flip 6 has a cover display-optimized chat assistant feature that makes replying to messages easier.
Despite the larger battery, the Z Flip 6 is reportedly slightly thinner than its predecessor, measuring 14.9mm when folded. On the other hand, the Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams, making it 14 grams lighter than the Z Fold 5.
Samsung plans to officially unveil the foldable device and other new products at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris.
