New Delhi, 13 December (Udaipur Kiran) – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the public sector steel producer, recorded a 14 percent increase in sales during the period from April to November 2025, reaching 12.7 million tonnes on a year-on-year basis.
The company stated on Saturday that despite pricing pressures and fluctuations in demand, its sales rose to 12.7 million tonnes compared to 11.1 million tonnes in the same period last year.
SAIL attributed this strong performance to an effective sales strategy that helped overcome challenges such as global price pressures, uncertainties in international trade policies, and demand variations caused by geopolitical tensions.
During the eight-month period, retail sales also remained robust at 0.97 million tonnes, marking a 13 percent increase from 0.86 million tonnes in April-November 2024. This growth was supported by ongoing brand promotion campaigns across the country. Additionally, November alone saw a 27 percent year-on-year rise in total sales, with retail sales surging by an impressive 69 percent compared to the previous year.
It is noteworthy that under the Ministry of Steel, SAIL operates five integrated steel plants located in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal, with a combined annual capacity exceeding 20 million tonnes.
