RBL Bank Shares Jump Over 7% Despite 17% Decline in Q2 Net Profit

Mumbai, October 20 (Udaipur Kiran): Shares of RBL Bank surged over 7% on Monday, even as the private sector lender reported a 17% year-on-year drop in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 (Q2FY26).

The stock was trading at Rs. 320.80, up Rs. 21.30 or 7.11% from its previous close of Rs. 299.50 on the BSE. It opened at Rs. 303.35 and touched an intraday high of Rs. 324.20 and low of Rs. 301.95. A total of 23.52 lakh shares changed hands during the session. The bank’s market capitalisation currently stands at Rs. 19,833.92 crore.

In the past 52 weeks, the stock has hit a high of Rs. 324.20 (October 16, 2025) and a low of Rs. 146.00 (January 20, 2025) — reflecting a sharp recovery in investor sentiment. The institutional investors hold 51.12%, while non-institutional investors own 48.87% of the company’s shares.

Q2 Financial Performance

On a standalone basis, RBL Bank reported a 19.77% decline in its net profit at Rs. 178.52 crore, compared to Rs. 222.52 crore in the same quarter last year. The bank’s total income marginally fell by 0.41% to Rs. 4,440.17 crore from Rs. 4,458.29 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

On a consolidated basis, the bank’s net profit dropped by 16.94% to Rs. 192.46 crore from Rs. 231.70 crore, while total income declined slightly by 0.39% to Rs. 4,441.59 crore from Rs. 4,459.05 crore a year earlier.

Despite the dip in profitability, the sharp rise in the stock indicates investor optimism over the bank’s improving operational performance, asset quality, and management’s outlook for the coming quarters.
