Rajasthan Panchayat Elections: Udaipur Zila Parishad Ward-Wise BJP and Congress Candidates

Udaipur, October 13 (Udaipur Kiran): The Udaipur Collectorate witnessed intense political activity on the final day of nominations for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections under the first phase of Rajasthan’s three-tier Panchayati Raj polls. Candidates from the BJP, Congress, other parties and independent groups gathered at the complex, creating an atmosphere of political excitement and show of strength.

The BJP released its much-awaited official candidate list an hour after the nomination deadline. The party has fielded a mix of experienced leaders and new faces, including former MLAs Dalichand Dangi and Nanalal Ahari, and Himmat Singh Jhala, who previously contested the Assembly election from Vallabhnagar.

The BJP has also placed its trust in Sanjana Meena, daughter of Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena; former Pradhan Pratibha Nagda; district general secretary Lalit Singh Sisodia; and Ghanshyam Menaria.

Arjun Singh Chundawat, district president of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, has been fielded against Congress candidate Raj Singh Jhala.

Ticket Change at the Last Moment

Former district president Bhanwar Singh Panwar, who had filed his nomination before the BJP released its list, lost the ticket at the last moment. The party instead nominated Anil Jaroli.

Panwar now has the option of contesting as an independent candidate or withdrawing his nomination.

Meanwhile, the decision of Rajni Rawat, wife of MP Mannalal Rawat, not to file her nomination became a topic of discussion. According to the supplied report, technical reasons kept her out of the contest at the last moment.

Congress Had Announced Its List Earlier

The Congress had already released its official list of 47 candidates. Shantilal Dangi, son of Mavli MLA Pushkar Lal Dangi, and Vivek Katara, who has contested Assembly elections twice, also filed nominations for Panchayat Samiti member seats.

In another notable development, 22-year-old Nandini Chauhan, the BJP candidate from Zila Parishad Ward 39, emerged as the youngest candidate mentioned in the report.

BJP candidate Rekha Doda from Girwa Panchayat Samiti arrived to file her nomination while carrying her two-month-old baby, drawing attention at the Collectorate.
