Jaipur, August 6 (Udaipur Kiran): The Rajasthan High Court has directed the High Court Administration to include the petitioner in the main examination for the RJS Recruitment-2024, in a case where no seats were reserved for the ST widow category. A division bench comprising Chief Justice MM Srivastava and Justice Ganesh Meena passed this order while hearing the petition of Sunita Meena.
In the petition, Advocate Himanshu Jain informed the court that the High Court Administration has advertised for 222 posts in the Rajasthan Judicial Service this year. After the preliminary examination, the main examination is scheduled to be held on August 31. Of the total posts, 24 posts are reserved for the ST category, out of which 8 posts are reserved for ST women. However, 30% of these 8 posts should be reserved for ST widows and divorcees, but no separate posts have been reserved for this quota. The petition states that the petitioner has scored 46 marks in the preliminary examination, while the cutoff for the general widow category is 45 marks. However, the High Court Administration has not issued a separate cutoff for ST widows and divorcees. In such a situation, the High Court Administration has violated the provisions of reservation. Since the petitioner has higher marks, she should be included in the main examination. Hearing the matter, the division bench has directed that the petitioner be included in the main examination.
