Mumbai, May 1: Actress Pooja Hegde recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of her Tamil romantic-action film ‘Retro.’ On this occasion, she took to social media to share some unheard and exciting memories from the film’s set.
Pooja posted several behind-the-scenes pictures and videos from the shoot on Instagram. She described the filmmaking process as an adventurous journey, stating, “It’s been a year since the release of ‘Retro.’ We faced numerous challenges during the shoot. There were storms, and I even suffered a ligament tear, which caused me significant injuries. The set was muddy and slippery, but our team’s spirit never wavered.”
She also recounted a shocking incident where their boat caught fire during filming. Pooja wrote, “Our boat caught fire (Suhaas, you will always be a hero), and there was an island where snakes were everywhere.”
Despite the technical challenges, Pooja emphasized that the atmosphere was peaceful and enjoyable. “We all laughed and joked a lot. The most important thing was that we were creating something from the heart, driven by our love for cinema. When you work with the right people, even the toughest days feel easier,” she added.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, ‘Retro’ features Pooja alongside Suriya in lead roles. The film, subtitled ‘Love-Laughter-War,’ was produced by Stone Bench Creations and 2D Entertainment. Suriya plays a character raised by a criminal father, who wants to leave his violent past behind to live a peaceful life with his girlfriend, Rukmini (Pooja Hegde), but his past refuses to let him go.
