PIMS Celebrates Fit India Week and World Meditation Day with Enthusiasm

Udaipur: The Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), under Sai Tirupati University, hosted a vibrant celebration of Fit India Week and World Meditation Day at its Udaipur campus in Umarda. The event aimed to highlight the benefits of meditation and encourage its inclusion in daily routines while promoting physical fitness and mental well-being among participants.

Focus on Mental and Physical Wellness

The celebration emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga, meditation, and fitness into daily life. It aimed to raise awareness among students, faculty, and staff about maintaining both physical and mental health. Over 300 participants, including students, teachers, and staff, actively engaged in collective yoga and fitness sessions.

Guided Yoga and Meditation Sessions

Dr. Chetan Dosi, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and a yoga trainer, conducted the yoga and meditation sessions. Participants were introduced to the benefits of mindfulness and meditation during a 20-minute guided meditation session, followed by 30 minutes of pranayama exercises. Attendees reported feeling a sense of calm, relaxation, and renewed energy post-session.

Promoting a Culture of Self-Care

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Suresh Goyal, Principal of PIMS, emphasized the core objectives of Fit India Week and World Meditation Day. He highlighted how such events encourage the community to prioritize self-care and mental health. “This celebration is a significant step towards fostering a culture of mindfulness, fitness, and well-being at PIMS,” Dr. Goyal stated.

The program was graced by Superintendent Dr. Sarita Kant and Academic Director Dr. Dilip Kumar Parikh, who lauded the efforts of the organizing team and the active participation of the attendees.
