The changes are mainly limited to the lighting, bumpers and exterior details. The overall size and footprint remain similar to the Tigor.
The notchback roofline and glasshouse have also been carried over. The car gets new alloy wheel designs and a purple colour option.
The Aeris is less than four metres long, placing it in the compact sedan category. It is available in Dandeli Drizzle, Nitro Crimson, Dune Glow and Pure Grey colours.
Interior and Features
The dashboard layout of the Aeris is similar to the Tiago. It gets a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
The car also gets a wireless charging tray with space for two phones. Other features include cruise control, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, an integrated dashcam, blind-spot monitoring and a 360-degree camera.
Tata has also added rear AC vents and Type-C USB ports. Other features include electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, push-button start and fabric seat upholstery.
The automatic variants get a rotary drive selector instead of the conventional gear lever. For safety, six airbags are offered as standard.
Engine
The Tata Aeris uses the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine as the Tigor. It produces 84bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The engine is available with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. The engine output remains unchanged compared with the previous model.
CNG Option
The Aeris also gets a factory-fitted CNG version with a dual-cylinder setup.
With CNG, the 1.2-litre engine produces 73bhp and 96.5Nm of torque. The CNG version is also available with an AMT gearbox and paddle shifters.
This gives buyers the option of choosing a compact sedan with CNG and an automated manual transmission.
