New Delhi, October 7: Mercedes-Benz has started bookings for the GLC Electric in India. The electric SUV will be officially launched on November 4, 2026.
The GLC Electric will be sold in India in the GLC 400 4Matic version. The SUV is being locally assembled at the company’s Chakan plant in Pune. It has a claimed WLTP range of up to 715 km on a single charge.
The expected ex-showroom price of the GLC Electric is around ₹85 lakh.

Battery and Power
The India-spec GLC Electric 400 4Matic gets a 94kWh battery pack with a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive.
Globally, this powertrain produces around 490bhp and 800Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds.
The company claims that the SUV can deliver a range of up to 715 km on a single charge under the WLTP test cycle.
Fast Charging
The electric SUV supports DC fast charging of up to 330kW. Mercedes-Benz claims that the GLC Electric can add up to 300 km of range with just 10 minutes of charging.
Bookings Open Before Launch
With less than a month left for its India launch, Mercedes-Benz has opened bookings for the electric SUV.
The company had earlier confirmed that the GLC Electric would arrive in India within six months of its European launch. The India launch is expected to be one of the company’s fastest global-to-India launches for a locally assembled Mercedes-Benz model.
Customers who book the SUV earlier are expected to get deliveries earlier. The GLC Electric will enter the premium electric SUV segment in India and is expected to compete with models such as the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase.
Mercedes Sales Rise
Mercedes-Benz has recorded its highest-ever sales in India during its 12-year journey in the country.
The company sold 5,422 units in the third quarter of 2026, compared with 5,119 units in the same quarter last year. This represents a 5.92% increase.
Between January and September 2026, Mercedes-Benz sold 15,190 units, its highest sales figure for the period. The sales performance shows strong demand for luxury cars in the Indian market.
