New Delhi : The Supreme Court has not given any relief to Asaram Bapu, who is currently in jail for rape. During the bail plea hearing, the court said that the trial is going on, the court will hear the matter in January.

Asaram has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding additional witnesses to be presented in the trial court and seeking bail citing his old age and illness.
Asaram was arrested in 2013, on charges of rape. A case of sexual abuse was registered against him at the Jodhpur ashram on August 20, 2013. Apart from this, two sisters from Surat had also alleged rape in the ashram in 2001.
