Neena Gupta, who is currently basking in the success of her web series “Panchayat 3”, has opened up about the struggles she faced in her early career. In a recent interview, she revealed that she had to do “dirty roles” and “bad work” for money.
“Today, my life has changed due to my good financial condition. But in the beginning of my career, I really needed money. I had to do a lot of bad work and dirty roles to get more money. But I prayed to God many times that he would not release those scenes. But today I cannot say no to such bad roles,” Gupta said.
She added that however, she could never say no so firmly before. “Today I only do the scripts that I like, I don’t do what I don’t like.”
Gupta further revealed that she comes from Delhi, so Mumbai used to seem like a difficult city at first. “Every three months I felt like packing my bags and going back. I wanted to go back and do my PhD. Mumbai is a city, I thought if I’m leaving tomorrow, then tonight I’ll feel like I’ll get some work tomorrow. Let’s wait and see,” she said.
Gupta further said, “I think when I die, people will write that the bold Neena Gupta is no more. So even then those people will not leave me. Okay, I don’t mind that.”
