Mumbai : The Pune police arrested Surendra Kumar Agarwal, the grandfather of the minor accused in the Pune hit-and-run case, last night. Surendra Kumar is accused of kidnapping the car driver, Gangadhar Pujari, and forcibly confining him in a room.

On the night of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar area of Pune, a minor had crushed two people riding a motorcycle with his car. Two people died in the incident. Gangadhar Pujari, the driver, was present with the minor at the time of the incident. Surendra Kumar had kidnapped and hidden the driver somewhere in an attempt to cover up the case. The driver’s wife then filed a complaint with the police about her husband’s kidnapping. Based on this, the Pune police had registered a case against Surendra Kumar on Friday on the basis of the complaint of the driver Gangadhar Pujari.
Surendra Kumar is also accused of kidnapping and murdering a businessman from Goa. In addition, Surendra Kumar is also accused of being an associate of gangster Chhota Rajan. The Pune police is going to interrogate Surendra Kumar in all these cases. The minor accused in the hit-and-run case has been sent to the juvenile home. His father, Vishal Agarwal, has also been arrested and is currently in judicial custody. Two policemen of Yerwada police station have been suspended for negligence in investigating this case.
