Kolkata, September 28 (Udaipur Kiran) : BJP National President Nitin Naveen made headlines during his visit to Kolkata on September 28, where he took a hands-on approach to preparing the city’s famous jhalmuri. In a 56-second video shared on the social media platform X, Naveen is seen making the popular street food, despite the presence of others ready to assist him.
Jhalmuri, a beloved snack in West Bengal, consists of puffed rice mixed with raw onions, green chilies, mustard oil, roasted peanuts, sev, various spices, and fresh lemon juice. It is commonly enjoyed by Kolkata residents as a quick bite throughout the day.
This culinary experience comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous appreciation for Kolkata’s street food during the West Bengal assembly elections. Following the BJP’s victory and its establishment in the state, special stalls serving jhalmuri were set up at party offices, where leaders celebrated their win by sharing the dish with one another.
Nitin Naveen’s trip to Kolkata marked his first visit to the city since assuming the role of BJP National President.
