Udaipur, February 1: Under the National Food Security Scheme (NFSA), eligible individuals can now apply online from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones through the official departmental website. This initiative, directed by the Principal Secretary of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, aims to streamline the application process and ensure accessibility for all beneficiaries.

New Guidelines for NFSA Applications
District Supply Officer Manish Bhatnagar stated that under the Rajasthan Food Security Rules 2023, a revised appeal process has been introduced. The Food Security Portal, opened on January 26, 2025, will allow:
- Addition of eligible but previously excluded beneficiaries to the priority list.
- Removal of ineligible families from the existing list.
How to Apply for NFSA Inclusion?
Individuals or families seeking inclusion in the priority list of the Food Security Scheme can submit an appeal through the Food Department’s online portal. Applicants must provide self-attested documentary proof based on their eligibility category, including:
- Antyodaya (AAY) or Below Poverty Line (BPL) card details
- SBPL (State BPL) card number
- Evidence of marginal farmer status
- Labor card or sanitation worker certification
Additionally, applicants must submit an affidavit affirming that they do not fall under any category that would disqualify them from receiving benefits under NFSA.
Mandatory Aadhaar Seeding for New Applications
Before submitting a new application, Aadhaar seeding for all family members on the ration card is mandatory. However, beneficiaries are not required to visit the District Supply Office for Aadhaar linking. Instead, they can complete the process at:
- Sub-Divisional Offices
- Panchayat Samiti Offices
- Authorized enforcement officers and inspectors with portal access
This digitized and decentralized approach will ensure faster processing and enable seamless access to food security benefits for deserving families.
