Los Angeles : The ‘Friday Night Lights’ actor Minka Kelly has revealed that she had asked ‘Euphoria’ creator Sam Levinson to alter a nude scene as she did not feel “comfortable in it”.
Vanity Fair quoted Minka as saying that in the very episode, where she is introduced, there is a discomfiting sensual edge to the scene. She said, “(Sam) thought it would be more interesting if my (Cassie’s) dress fell to the ground when she asked Alexa Demie (Maddy) to unzip.
“That was my first day as a guest on this new show, and I just didn’t feel comfortable standing there naked. “I said, ‘I’d love to do this scene, but I think we can keep my dress on. He was like, ‘Okay!’ He didn’t even hesitate. And he shot a beautiful scene and got exactly what he wanted.”
This revelation came after her Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney told The Independent that while filming she had encountered scenes asking for nudity that she didn’t feel were necessary. “There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here.’ He was like, ‘OK, we don’t need it’,” Sydney said.
