Journey Through the World’s Most Dangerous Airstrip

Mukta’s expedition began with a flight from Delhi to Kathmandu, Nepal, followed by a daring landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, widely known as the world’s most perilous airstrip. From there, she embarked on the Everest Base Camp trail — a trek that spans approximately 12 days and is fraught with natural and physical challenges.

Throughout the journey, Mukta confronted harsh weather conditions, decreasing oxygen levels, and strenuous daily climbs through rugged mountain terrain. Yet, with unwavering patience and skill, she pushed forward until she reached the base camp, where she proudly raised the Tricolor — a gesture of pride, patriotism, and personal achievement.

A Legacy of Adventure and High-Altitude Success

Mukta Vyas’s latest achievement adds to her impressive mountaineering resume. A passionate trekker since childhood, she has previously scaled several notable peaks across India:

  • Kalsubai Peak, the highest point in Maharashtra

  • Churdhar Peak in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district

  • The world’s highest Shiva temple — Tungnath Mahadev

  • Treacherous treks like Harihar Fort, Kalavantin Fort, and Sandhan Valley in Maharashtra

From Educator to Solo Explorer

Formerly involved in the teaching profession, Mukta is now a dedicated solo traveler, driven by her love for nature and exploration. She attributes much of her success and motivation to her husband Dr. Piyush Vyas, daughter Vishita Vyas, and her supportive family, who have stood by her in every adventure.

Eyes on the Horizon: Europe and Antarctica Next

Mukta’s journey doesn’t end at Everest Base Camp. She is already laying the groundwork for her next grand adventures — explorations across Europe and the icy wilderness of Antarctica, making her an inspiration for aspiring adventurers, especially women, across the country.
