Man Arrested for Assisting in Minor Girl’s Murder Case in Udaipur

Udaipur, April 5 (Udaipur Kiran): Police have arrested an accused for allegedly assisting in the murder of a minor girl in the Rishabhdev police station area of Udaipur district.

According to police, the main accused had killed the minor girl and later hanged the body to mislead the investigation. He subsequently died by suicide. In connection with the case, police have now arrested Vinod Somawat, a resident of Bilakh area in Rishabhdev, for his alleged role in aiding the crime.

Superintendent of Police Dr Amrita Duhan said that directions had been issued across the district to intensify action against wanted criminals. Acting under this drive, a police team led by Station House Officer Hemant Ahari carried out the arrest under the supervision of ASP Kherwara Anjana Sukhwal and Deputy Rajiv Rahar.

The investigation revealed that the accused had helped the main accused, identified as Maganlal, in abducting the minor girl. After committing the crime, the main accused hanged the victim’s body and later died by suicide.

Police said the arrested accused was absconding and was later apprehended. A motorcycle used in the crime was also recovered based on his disclosure.
