Dhaka, September 4 (Kiran News): Bangladesh T20 captain Litton Kumar Das has expressed confidence in his team’s preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup, set to begin on September 9 in the UAE.

Bangladesh recently defeated the Netherlands 2-0 in a three-match T20 series, with the third game washed out due to rain. This marked their third consecutive T20 series victory, following earlier wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Litton credited the team’s success to a well-planned pre-series camp. The squad first underwent a fitness camp in Dhaka before moving to Sylhet for a skills camp, where they trained on better pitches.
“I think we are well prepared for the Asia Cup. The camp we organised was not just for this series but with the Asia Cup in mind. Honestly, I’ve never experienced such a good camp before,” Litton said.
Explaining further, he added: “Fitness could have been worked on in Mirpur as well, but the kind of practice we needed was only possible in Sylhet. Overall, this journey has been very beneficial for us.”
The skipper also highlighted the importance of players gaining match time. “Whoever got the chance to play, performed well. Only Saifuddin couldn’t contribute much, but everyone else made an impact in at least one game. Practice is important, but performing in matches matters more because that’s how you gain real experience.”
Litton admitted that not all batsmen got opportunities to bat but saw it as a positive. “It’s a good sign that our top order did so well that the middle order didn’t even get a chance. In the Asia Cup, there will be days when everyone has to bat, but for now, this is a positive sign for us.”
Bangladesh will open their Asia Cup campaign on September 11 against Hong Kong.
