Heavy Rainfall in Several Cities, Including Banswara, Udaipur & Chittorgarh ; Jaipur Receives Over 2 Inches

Jaipur, August 23 (Udaipur Kiran): The monsoon has gradually picked up pace in the state. On Friday, heavy rainfall was recorded in more than half a dozen cities, including Banswara. Jaipur received over two inches of rainfall.

According to the Water Resources Department, Bhungra in Banswara received 130 mm, Loharia 55 mm, Kapasan in Chittorgarh 87 mm, Baswa in Dausa 55 mm, Dholpur 83 mm, Dag in Jhalawar 70 mm, Manoharthana 63 mm, Ramganjmandi in Kota 71 mm, Mount Abu in Sirohi 80 mm, Jhadaul in Udaipur 73 mm, Nayagaon 55 mm, and Girwa 51 mm of rainfall. Rainfall was recorded in approximately 15 cities on Friday. Ajmer, Bhilwara, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Dholpur, Baran, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jalore, Sirohi, Dausa, and Jaipur recorded rainfall.

Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, informed that a low-pressure area is situated over the northern parts of West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. Another low-pressure area is located in the Arabian Sea off the Maharashtra coast. The monsoon trough line is passing through Bikaner and Sikar. Due to this system, the monsoon is likely to remain active in many parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next 5-6 days, and there is a strong possibility of light to moderate rainfall and heavy rainfall at some places in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at some places in Kota and Udaipur divisions on August 25-26.

In the western parts of Rajasthan, Bikaner, and Jodhpur divisions, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in the coming days, and heavy rainfall at some places in the Jodhpur division on August 23-26. On Thursday, heavy rainfall was recorded at some places in Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Udaipur, and Chittorgarh districts, and very heavy rainfall was recorded at some places in Pali district. The highest rainfall in eastern Rajasthan was recorded at Rashmi Chittorgarh with 90 mm, and in western Rajasthan, it was recorded at Raypur Pali with 122 mm. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 38 degrees Celsius in Barmer, and the highest minimum temperature was 29.6 degrees Celsius in Falaudi.

Scattered Rainfall in Jaipur, 56.8 mm at Airport

Jaipur experienced light to moderate clouds throughout the morning, with the sun occasionally peeking through. The weather changed in the afternoon, with rainfall in Jagatpura, Malviya Nagar, Sanganer, and other areas. Jaipur witnessed scattered rainfall on Friday. Jaipur Airport recorded 56.8 mm and Sanganer recorded 20 mm of rainfall. Jaipur’s maximum temperature was 32.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius. Following the rainfall, traffic jams were reported from Jagatpura Pulya to Jhalana and from Apex Circle to JLN Marg. Long queues of vehicles were seen here.
