Ahmedabad, 3 September (Kiran News) — In a significant boost to its road safety and emergency response efforts, Gujarat Police has inducted 50 specially customised Honda CB350 Quick Response Team (QRT) motorcycles into its fleet. The handover took place under the ‘Sadak Sahayak: Surakshit Marg, Surakshit Jiwan’ initiative, with the Honda India Foundation (HIF) providing the bikes as part of its road safety and community welfare programme.
250 QRT Bikes to be Deployed Nationwide by Year-End
These 50 motorcycles are part of a larger plan, with a total of 250 Honda CB350 QRT bikes set to be distributed to police departments across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh by the end of the year. The initiative aims to enhance the safety of public roads and help authorities manage traffic more efficiently.
Custom Features for Quick Response Teams
The Honda CB350 motorcycles have been customised specifically for quick response operations. Key features include revolving flashers and blinkers, a public announcement system, siren and flashlight, side and rear storage panniers, two Honda-branded safety helmets, and a large visor. The bikes are finished in ‘Mat Dune Brown’ with reflective stickers for better visibility.
Honda says these QRT bikes are designed to enable faster response in dense and sensitive areas, thereby strengthening on-ground law enforcement and helping save lives. The additional equipment and storage will empower police personnel to respond effectively in emergencies.
Honda CB350: Engine and Features
Mechanically, the Honda CB350 QRT remains unchanged. It is powered by a 348 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine delivering 20.7 bhp and 29.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike comes with telescopic front forks, twin rear shocks, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, an assist and slipper clutch, split seats, LED lighting, Honda Selectable Torque Control, Honda RoadSync Bluetooth connectivity, side stand cut-off, and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS).
