Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro to Get Circle to Search Feature via Pixel Feature Drop

The Google Pixel 7 series will soon be available with Circle to Search, a feature that lets you perform visual searches instantly. This feature was first introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and later in the Google Pixel 8 series. But with the latest Pixel feature release, the tech giant announced on Monday that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will also have this feature in the coming days. At the same time, the March security updates were also released for Pixel smartphones.

The expansion of Circle to Search was announced by the company in a post. Google says: “We recently introduced Circle to Search, a new way to search for things on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. And soon Circle to Search will be available on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Now you can “More” your searches without having to switch apps. The rollout date for the feature has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Circle to Search is essentially an expanded and refined version of Google Lens. It allows users to highlight anything on the screen and get quick search results on it. To use it, users must first activate it by long-pressing the Pixel’s home button or navigation bar. Once activated, users can circle, doodle, or highlight any part of the screen to initiate a visual search. Additionally, you can tap an image, text, or video to get information about it.

In addition, the call screen performance of Pixel smartphones has also been improved. If the caller doesn’t answer, a “Hello” chip appears, and when the user taps it, Google Assistant prompts them to speak. The assistant also asks the caller to hold the call a little longer if you cannot answer the call immediately.

Another new feature for Pixel smartphones is native camera support for the Instagram app, allowing you to upload 10-bit HDR videos and Ultra HDR photos directly to Instagram. Users no longer have to switch between their default camera app and Instagram when taking videos or photos and can do all their work on the social media platform without any loss of quality.
