‘Robber jump off with ornaments bag near Nimbahera Junction’
Udaipur : In a daredevil act, an unidentified man robbed gold ornaments worth 2.5 crore rupees from possession of two passengers travelling in the Udaipur-Bandra train on Monday morning. The incident took place in the running train between 5.30 to 6 am when the robber pulled the bag kept at one of the passenger’s side and jumped off from the train. The gold ornaments weighed approximately 8 kilograms and were meant for supply to a jeweler in Udaipur from a gold company in Mumbai.
According to the GRP station two salesmen from a gold company at Johri Bazaar Mumbai had boarded the train on Sunday from Bandra terminus with 8 kilo gold ornaments. Salesmen Narendra and Vipul had a lower and upper birth and when the train reached Nimbahera junction in Chittorgarh district on Monday morning, one someone entered their coach. The train started moving as per schedule and had hardly crossed 500 meters when the person pulled away the ornaments bag which was kept on Narendra’s head side.
Narendra woke up and shouted while Vipul tried to stop the robber. Before they could nab him the robber jumped off from the running train. The victims pulled the chain and informed the railway police. A search was launched but the robber had disappeared taking advantage of the early morning dim light. The salesmen said that they could not see the robber’s face but he appeared to be in an age bracket of 25-30 years,
