Santa Monica Studios, the creator of God of War, is apparently working on its next game, which will likely be new intellectual property. The studio’s last game was Sony’s God of War Ragnarok in 2022, and the next project has yet to be announced. However, a Santa Monica employee’s LinkedIn profile revealed that the company is working on a new IP.

According to a report from VGC (via ResetEra), the LinkedIn profile of Glauco Longhi, character lead at Santa Monica Studios, stated that the developer is working on a new IP. “Santa Monica Studios gave me the opportunity to return as character supervisor and be responsible for the entire character development pipeline of a new IP.

However, Longhi’s LinkedIn profile currently states that he is overseeing character development for an unannounced project, without mentioning the new IP.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Lungi previously worked at Naughty Dog, another Sony-owned studio, as lead character artist on Uncharted 4 Character Artist. He then worked as a main character artist on God of War Ragnarok.

Lungi left Santa Monica to join Striking Distance Studios as character director on The Callisto Protocol and later worked as studio art director at Unknown World Entertainment, best known for the Subnautica series. He returned to Santa Monica in April of this year and is currently working on an unreleased project for the studio.

The God of War maker hasn’t revealed his next project yet, but the studio’s creative director Corey Barlog has announced a game in the works in the past. Rumor has it that Santa Monica is working on the next God of War title and a new IP. Balrog already hinted in a post in March

Sony Studios worked on God of War Ragnarok in 2022 and released the game’s free Valhalla DLC in 2023. Neither Santa Monica nor Sony have confirmed the release schedule of the studio’s next film.
