✔ Undo Functionality – A single tap reverses the last deleted character, or if an entire word or sentence was removed, it restores it in one action.
✔ Redo Functionality – If users mistakenly undo a deletion, the Redo button reinstates the removed text.
✔ Persistent History – If Gboard is dismissed but the app remains open, the Undo/Redo history stays intact. However, exiting the app completely clears this memory.
How to Access and Use Undo & Redo in Gboard
✔ Open Gboard’s shortcuts menu and locate the new Undo button.
✔ To maximize accessibility, drag it to the suggestions row for quick access.
✔ Once enabled, tapping Undo will reverse the last action, while Redo will reapply the change.
✔ If no action is available, the icons will remain grayed out.
This feature enhances text correction workflows, particularly in email composition, messaging, and document editing, making manual retyping a thing of the past.
