Patna, August 31: Four individuals have reportedly died in Behdna village, located in the Baidhn subdivision of Patna district, due to suspected poisoning from illicit liquor. Bihar’s Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha visited the village on Sunday, where he met with the families of the deceased to express his condolences and listen to their concerns. He also gathered detailed information about the incident from administrative officials.
Local villagers have raised suspicions that the deaths were caused by toxic alcohol. Taking their concerns seriously, Minister Sinha directed that the bodies of the deceased be sent for post-mortem examinations to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Sinha stated that further actions would be determined based on the findings of the post-mortem reports. If the investigation confirms that the deaths were due to poisonous liquor, stringent action will be taken against those responsible. He has instructed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Baidhn to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.
The minister also communicated with the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police in Patna to ensure a fair inquiry and necessary actions. He emphasized that the illegal liquor trade in the state will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He warned that if anyone is found involved in the illegal liquor trade during the investigation, strict legal action will be pursued against them. Meanwhile, the administration is continuously monitoring the situation and ongoing investigations into various aspects of the case.
