Blood Pressure Awareness Drive Held in Udaipur

Udaipur, May 21 (Udaipur Kiran) — A community blood pressure monitoring campaign was organised on the occasion of World Hypertension Day by Venkateshwara School and College of Nursing, Umarada, a unit of Sai Tirupati University.

Students of B.Sc Nursing fifth semester and GNM third year actively participated in the campaign.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of principal Dr. Vijay Singh Rawat, vice-principal Dr. C.P. Dekhawat and faculty members Dr. Archala Khemnar, professor and head of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department, along with Prakash Salvi, Maheshwari Patel and Neeraj Jhala.

As part of the campaign, nursing students visited Jhamarkotda village and conducted door-to-door blood pressure monitoring of rural families. A total of 68 families were covered during the drive.

Villagers were also provided health awareness regarding prevention of high blood pressure. The campaign focused on reducing salt intake, avoiding oily and fatty food, regular exercise and timely health check-ups.
