Jodhpur : Asaram Bapu, a controversial godman serving a life sentence for sexual abuse, was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jodhpur on Wednesday evening after experiencing sudden chest pain.
Asaram initially sought medical attention at the jail dispensary, but due to lack of relief, he was transferred to AIIMS for emergency evaluation. He is currently under observation and undergoing further investigations. A team of doctors has decided to keep him hospitalized at AIIMS.
Asaram has been brought to AIIMS several times in the past for similar chest pain complaints. However, reports suggest he is reluctant to undergo an angiography examination, favoring treatment through Ayurveda instead. This poses a challenge for doctors in determining the appropriate course of action.
Asaram’s hospitalization is happening under strict security measures with police, security guards, and armed jawans present at the hospital.
