Dispute Near Railway Tracks Led to Murder

According to the preliminary investigation, the accused and the student had an argument near Bakra Bridge, beyond Platform No. 4. In a fit of anger, Yadav allegedly strangled her and dumped her body in a drain alongside the railway tracks before fleeing to Prayagraj.

At around 11 am on October 10, the GRP found the body near the railway tracks. GRP Ratlam Station House Officer Sohanlal Patidar sent the unidentified body to the medical college for preservation.

Police circulated the student’s photograph to police stations to establish her identity. On October 12, Banswara Police identified her from the photograph. Her family subsequently reached Ratlam, and a post-mortem examination was conducted.

School Bag, Books and Uniform Recovered

The student’s school bag, books and college uniform were recovered around 100 metres from the crime scene.

Following the discovery, a Rajasthan Police team travelled to Uttar Pradesh to trace the accused. According to the preliminary investigation, Yadav had attended a family mourning ceremony in his village and had his head shaved before his arrest.
