London, March 22 – Australian fast bowler Harry Conway has signed with Northamptonshire to compete in the upcoming County Championship Division Two. The 32-year-old seamer is set to play four matches at Wantage Road, beginning on May 2 against Leicestershire, followed by fixtures against Lancashire, Glamorgan, and Gloucestershire.

Conway, known for his ability to extract bounce and maintain a disciplined line and length, strengthens Northamptonshire’s seam attack, which saw a setback after Jack White’s departure to Yorkshire. The Australian quick recently featured in three matches for Sheffield Shield finalists South Australia, where he claimed eight wickets at an average of 27.12.
A former Australia Under-19 international, Conway began his domestic career with New South Wales before moving to South Australia in 2022 for greater opportunities. His first-class record includes 119 wickets in 46 matches at an average of 28.86, underscoring his consistency and experience in red-ball cricket.
Adding familiarity to his new environment, Darren Lehmann, former Australia coach and a fellow South Australian, is currently at the helm of Northamptonshire. Conway will also join a team bolstered by overseas talent including South Africa’s Matthew Breetzke, with India’s Yuzvendra Chahal set to arrive in June for the remainder of the season.
Expressing his excitement, Conway said, “I’m thrilled to join this outstanding county team. The opportunity to play competitive cricket in England under the guidance of an international-level coach like Darren Lehmann is something I truly look forward to. There’s a wealth of young talent in the squad, and I can’t wait to contribute to some big wins.”
Lehmann praised the signing, stating, “Harry is the kind of bowler who thrives in English conditions. His experience and control will be a great asset to our bowling group. We’re confident he’ll play a key role as we look to start the season strongly.”
