California, March 9 – In yet another disturbing act of vandalism, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills, California, was defaced with hateful slogans on Sunday. This marks the second such attack on a Hindu temple in the U.S. in recent months, raising concerns over the growing incidents of hate crimes against the Hindu community.

Hindu American Foundation Condemns Attack
The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) shared details of the incident on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that the Chino Hills temple has once again been targeted by anti-Hindu hate crimes.
Responding to the attack, the BAPS organization emphasized their commitment to peace and unity.
“We will never allow hatred to take root. Our belief in peace and compassion remains unwavering.”
The BAPS Public Affairs department further added:
“After another act of desecration, the Hindu community in Chino Hills is standing strong against hate. Alongside the broader Southern California community, we reaffirm that hatred will never find a place here. Our shared humanity and faith will ensure that peace and compassion prevail.”
Police Yet to Release an Official Statement
As of now, the Chino Hills Police Department has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, the Hindu community in the area has expressed deep concern over the increasing number of such attacks.
This act of vandalism comes just days before a so-called Khalistani referendum event in Los Angeles, California. It also follows a series of anti-India activities that have surfaced in the U.S. over the past few months.
Notably, in September 2023, the same Chino Hills temple was also targeted in a similar hate-driven attack.
Rising Concerns Over Hate Crimes
📌 Repeated attacks on Hindu places of worship raise questions about religious intolerance.
📌 Lack of strong action against such acts fuels fear among the Hindu community.
📌 Ongoing anti-India activities in the U.S. coincide with these incidents, pointing to possible larger motives.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir has long been a symbol of peace, spirituality, and unity, attracting devotees from across California. The Hindu community now awaits a firm response from law enforcement authorities to ensure such hate crimes are not repeated.
