“Hail to the Chiefs” Showcases Watercolor Caricatures Across America
Washington, March 8 – Acclaimed Indian cartoonist Shreyas Navare has launched a year-long, multi-city exhibition featuring his watercolor caricatures of past U.S. Presidents. As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary of independence on July 4, 2026, Navare’s exhibition, titled “Hail to the Chiefs”, aims to spark conversations on history, leadership, and shared humanity through art.
The exhibition debuted in New York City, where George Washington was inaugurated as the first U.S. President. Over the course of a year, it will travel to all 50 states and conclude in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

A Tribute to U.S. History Through Art & Humor
Navare, a New York-based cartoonist and creative entrepreneur, sees this exhibition as a reflection of America’s enduring democracy.
“The United States, much like my home country of India, has endured over a long period of time and continues to thrive on the strength of ongoing conversations within society, all in the eternal quest for a more perfect union,” he stated.
By blending humor, history, and art, Navare brings to life the personalities of America’s early Commanders-in-Chief.
“It gave me great joy to research the Presidents—from the blue coat of George Washington to the blue eyes of John Adams—as I set about rendering these American visionaries through my brush.”
Expanding on Past Political Cartoons
Navare has been closely following U.S. politics for years. His previous exhibition, “America in Cartoons: From Bill to Biden” (2022), featured caricatures of five U.S. Presidents—Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden.
“Hail to the Chiefs! builds on my previous work by celebrating the rich story of America through watercolor caricatures of all U.S. Presidents.”
With an impressive international portfolio, Navare has exhibited his work across multiple countries, and his original artworks are even housed in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
