Mumbai, May 6: Actor Anil Kapoor made a striking appearance at this year’s Met Gala, showcasing a dress featuring the famous horse painting from his character Majnu Bhai in the comedy-drama film ‘Welcome.’ The painting, which depicts a donkey on a horse, has become a popular meme and has now reached the prestigious New York event.
During the event, Kapoor shared a playful video on his Instagram stories, accompanied by the title track of ‘Welcome.’ He captioned the post, “When Met Gala meets Majnu Bhai. Art knows no boundaries.”
The painting symbolizes hard work through the horse, while the donkey represents those who do not put in the same effort. Kapoor has previously mentioned that the original painting still hangs in his home.
Since its release in 2007, ‘Welcome,’ directed by Anees Bazmee, has been celebrated for its humor, memorable performances by Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, and its witty dialogues, many of which continue to circulate on social media.
