Jaipur/Udaipur, May 5, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The state government has taken strict action against Amar Ashish Hospital and IVF Centre and Sampat ART Bank in Udaipur, suspending their registrations with immediate effect after serious irregularities were found during inspections.

Acting on reports of illegal egg trade and violations of norms, the Medical and Health Department launched a special drive to ensure transparency, legal compliance, and ethical standards in IVF centres across Rajasthan.
Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri Rathore said that complaints regarding irregularities in IVF centres in Udaipur led to the formation of a state-level team under the State Nodal Officer for ART and Surrogacy. Three additional teams conducted surprise inspections of all registered IVF centres in the district.
A total of 28 centres were inspected. During an inspection on May 2, 2026, at Amar Aashish Hospital and IVF Centre, serious deficiencies were found in documents related to ART Bank, ART Clinic (Level-2), and Surrogacy Clinic. Following this, registrations of all associated units were suspended immediately.
Similarly, multiple irregularities were detected at Sampat ART Bank, leading to suspension of its registration until further orders. Verification of documents of other IVF centres is ongoing.
The Principal Secretary stated that violations of the ART Regulation Act, 2021 and Surrogacy Regulation Act will not be tolerated. Ensuring the safety, health, and rights of citizens remains the top priority, and strict action will continue against any irregularities.
The department will also carry out regular inspections of all registered ART banks, ART clinics, and surrogacy clinics across the state to ensure compliance with prescribed standards and legal provisions. The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and quality in healthcare services.
