St. Vincent: Afghanistan has pulled off the biggest upset of the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating Australia by 21 runs. Batting first after losing the toss, Afghanistan set a challenging target of 148 runs, losing six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In response, the mighty Australian team was bundled out for just 127 runs, handing Afghanistan a sensational victory. This is the first time in cricket history that Afghanistan has defeated Australia in any format.
Australia’s loss has dealt a severe blow to their semi-final hopes, as they now must beat India in their final Super 8 match on June 24 to have any chance of qualifying.

Ibrahim Zadran chipped in with a valuable 51 runs off 48 balls, hitting six fours. Gulbadin Naib produced the best bowling performance of his career, taking four wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs. Naveen-ul-Haq also conceded 20 runs but picked up three wickets.
