ACB Traps Cooperative Official Taking ₹30,000 Bribe in Ajmer

Jaipur, January 3 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau Rajasthan (ACB), Special Unit Ajmer, on Saturday caught an assistant manager of a cooperative society red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 in Ajmer district.

Acting on the directions of ACB Headquarters, the Ajmer unit arrested Parmeshwar Kumar Prajapat, Assistant Manager of Gram Seva Sahakari Samiti Limited, Dhatol, Panchayat Samiti Bhilnay, Ajmer district, while he was allegedly receiving the bribe amount from the complainant.

Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta said the bureau had received a complaint stating that the accused demanded ₹30,000 for clearing compensation under the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme for the Rabi crop (2024–25) relating to the complainant and his wife’s ancestral agricultural land. The demand was allegedly fixed on December 23, 2025, and the bribe was taken on January 3, 2026.

Under the supervision of Ajmer Range Superintendent of Police Mahavir Singh Ranawat and the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Bhati, the ACB team led by Inspector Narendra Singh laid a trap and arrested the accused on the spot while accepting the bribe.

Further questioning and legal proceedings are underway under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
